Do you ever find that you have SO much going on in your head, in your life that a dull cacophony rings loudly? This time of year, being stuck inside so much, lends itself to being stuck inside my head too much. Days come that I say, “That’s it. I’m cooked. Done. I’m not getting off of this couch because I don’t know where to start.”
Then I think of what truly is important. We were not made to “do” but to “be”. Simply “be”. In His presence. In relationship with Him. Present to accept His presents.
One of my favorite presents is His perfect peace. “You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.” – Isaiah 26:3 It is freeing to empty my mind of all but Him. Getting clear with Jesus’s face and the Holy Spirit living in me allows me to live larger, better, simpler.
We ask for peace in tumultuous moments. Let me ask for His perfect peace in every moment.
